Easy St Finished now to send it to be quilted

This quilt is a behemoth. It was pulled out of the UFM box in the vain hope to finish some of the projects I have started. There are posts for this quilt in 2012!!!

I love it. It covers my entire bed it's that enormous!

Belatedly Becs

Started this quilt with plenty of time to get it find not too long after Becs 40th in May 2013. Days turned into weeks and in to months. I only had to see the rows together and bind. Finally on 16th June 2014 I finished it (excluding label). Made with a moda flirt layer cake and 6 of my own squares to give me 6 squares by 8. Quilted with a basic cross pattern to hold it together.

This was the first raggy quilt I bound and I like it. The back is just a spotlight floral I got on sale that I had yardage of. Binding, spotlight fabric that had a glitter on it.

"Charlotte's to Cherish"

I finished this last year- there are blog posts showing its construction. Made for Charlotte Mohr for her 5th birthday in 2013. Poor little mite waited 3 months for it.

Challenge Quilt "Berry Nice"

At the retreat in Townsville in 2012, Anne, Lorraine, Elvie, Rowena and I set a challenge to make a quilt from the new cuts for new quilts book we bought using a batik challenge fabric.

We were meant to take to Bendigo but didn't go.

So to Launceston, we took them to show. Rowena and Elvies friend Margaret could not attend.

Mine is called Berry Nice and was quilted by Sharon, The Patchwork Quilter here in Adelaide.

Monday morning project complete!!

Here is the top for Charlotte's Quilt. Found enough scraps to make the 25th block. Borders to be added, but first, laundry, kitchen clean and also 2 Bee Blocks that need to go in the post tomorrow. I may also get a run in today- gotta get moving. Halo of course is test driving the comfort level of the Quilt to give it her furry seal of approval.

Australia Day Weekend Project

This week I've been die cutting 2.5" strips and sewing them together for a 16 patch quilt for my little friend Charlotte's 6th birthday. All but 2 fabrics are stash. I have some spare strip combos that I'm going to cut for sewing later. I die cut using a big shot. And the other day I learnt I could cut my 4 strips that are sewn together into strips meaning everything is accurate. You can see a couple of photos if this and a finished block below. I'll finish piecing the top this weekend and them put it aside to make some bee blocks and cut fabric for some swaps. Machine desperately needs a service.

Finally

Finally a project didn't escape Halo the cat and her vomit. Strips sewn for a 16 patch scrap quilt, now with a dressing of furball and regurgitated dry food. It was only a matter of time. At least this was the spare strips I'd put aside and not the main project. That's something to be glad of. Disappointment with the wedding quilt as not a mention of thanks has been received for the 100+ hours invested in that beautiful gift.

LDQB 2013 January

This is the first block for the Long Distance Quilting Bee that I am a part of. This one is for Annika in Switzerland and is called Pieced Star. I got the block pattern from Quilters Cache.
